BARNSHOOT INFOMATION
We
Bring the Studio to You!
So how does a Barnshoot work? We generally try to have at least 8 to 10 people at the barn signed up in advance. But our schedule will
accommodate up to 15-16. Once all of the arrangements are made, we'll come out with our trailer, supplemental lighting,
and other items to set up a beautiful location to take the photos of you, your horse and barn-mates.
Will you only come out if we have 8 to 10 people? We try to take it on a case by case basis. But honestly, when word gets out, we usually have many more signed up than
that. We've even done a couple Barnshoot where people have trailered in from other barns to take advantage of this service.
Sometimes we even have to come back for a second session. *Please check with your barn manager
before inviting other horses on to your barn's property!
How is it all organized?
Once you have permission from
the Barn Manager or Owner to host a Barnshoot we'll set a date. Then I'll send you sign up sheets, schedule sheets (blocked
off in 30 minute increments), Big collages with sample photos, and large bright colored posters to put up around the barn
to let everyone know when this is happening, and to see you to sign up for pictures. Once someone pays the $20 sitting fee,
and signs up, you can then assign them a time slot. If they want to do more than one session or do sessions with more than
one animal, they are welcome to pay additional sitting fees to book more time slots.
Why would I want to do
all that? That's the good news! For pitching
this to the barn, and helping us organize the Barnshoot, you will get a nice credit towards your photos.
What's this going to cost the barn, and why
would they want to do this? There is no cost
to the facility. In fact upon request, they will get photos for use on their website. This is a value added service
that the farm can offer their boarders and students at no cost the farm!! How often can they do that?
Will you take pictures
of people with other family members? Yes we
will! We've taken photos of people with and without their horses, people and their dogs, dogs and horses together, you name
it. We once had 3 generations of one family fly in from all over the country and we did their family portrait right there
on the farm!
You said something about
a $20 sitting fee. Is that refundable? A sitting
fee is a standard charge that most studios charge, and it is usually much more than $20. We charge a sitting fee to help people
honor the commitment they made when they booked time in the schedule. It also helps defray the cost of flowers and other props
that we bring along to make your Barnshoot beautiful and special. The sitting fee is not applicable to purchases, and is only
refundable if Redline cancels the Barnshoot.
